Happy Weekend

I survived the first day of summer vacation!  All seven of us did!  For some, just barely :)  Thank goodness still  for weekends!  Now time to catch up on things that will make this mommy happy.

I'm a bit late on this one.  Yes, I know.  But better late then never.  I heard it's pretty juicy ;)  Have you read it?  Did you read the entire trilogy?  Spill the beans.

I also need to catch up on the second season of HBO's American fantasy TV series Game of Thrones.  Have you seen it?  Are you addicted too?  Supposedly the second season was better than the first.  I just literally finished the first season last weekend.  And so far, it is really good.

So, what are your plans for this weekend?  Are you doing any reading or catching up on any TV series as well?  Whatever you do, I hope it makes you H-A-P-P-Y.  Have a great weekend!!!

my baby girl

This little lady graduated Pre-K today.  My baby, Gabriella.  We just call her Gabby for short.  She is the youngest of our five kids, so today was a bit more emotional for me. Oh, how time flies!  I still remember when she barely said a word.  Now she can't stop!  Her name definitely suits her :)  Kindergarten I hope you are ready for her because here she comes!

Sorry for the blurry photo.  It was taken with my phone.  Of course the battery died on my regular camera before I could take a solo picture of her :(

I hope you had a great weekend and that all the dads in your life felt the love this Father's Day.  We were fortunate to have been able to spend it with the dads in our life- my hubby, my dad, my father-in-law and my brother-in-law.  Not all at the same time, but at some point in the day.  We're still waiting to add my hubby's younger brother to that list though.  So, if you are reading this Michael and Dyan, you better get moving on it.  We're all waiting!  ;)

Okay...now on to the news.  For all you Vera Bradley fans out there the NEW Vera Bradley Bedding collection is finally launching in stores and online June 28th! Not only does VB have beautiful patterns in fun colors for handbags and accessories, now they are offering bedding too.  Woohoo!

They will also be revealing three new Signature colors/patterns as well.  For a sneak peek at Paisley Meets Plaid, Indigo Pop and Va Va Bloom check out the short video clip here from Inside Stitch.  Are you a Vera Bradley fan too?  I can't wait!  Can you?!

random

My kids really want a puppy.  But they want it for about five minutes and then you know what happens.  Mom and dad end up taking care of the puppy.  So, what do I tell them?  They can have one once they move out, get their own place and can take care of the puppy themselves.  It's hard enough to keep up with the five of them as is!  And then... I came across this photo.

OMG!  My heart almost melted when I first saw this black baby pug's photo.  Those eyes.  That face.  Isn't he/she sweet, or what?!  After seeing this, I almost reconsidered my kids request for a puppy.  Almost.  I hope none of them are reading this because they might hold me to it :)  I'm not quite there, but this photo brings me closer to even thinking about it.

motivation monday

 via

I'm attempting a few new projects around the house, making some personal changes, as well as working on a number of business ideas.  I've been putting them off for some time now because I fear failure and because I'm a true perfectionist.  I'm my own worse critic.  But thinking this way is just holding me back.  I need to stop and move forward.  I realize that many lessons can be learned from trying out new things.  I believe that it can make you into a stronger and more knowledgeable person.  I know there will be some trial and errors but there are possibilities of many rewards in the end.  I'll never know until I try, right?!

How about you?  Do you have any new projects or ideas that you've been pondering?  What's holding you back?  Don't let anything stand in your way, especially your own self.

simply styling

I think it's always inspiring to see beautifully styled spaces. So, I rounded up a few of my favorites.  Here's a little Ikat pattern, nailhead trim and some succulents in a pretty silver bowl.

A white lacquered credenza for storage, a pair of matching table lamps, a driftwood mirror and some simple table styling.  Who doesn't love a little style with functionality?

An oversized glass vase on a coffee table, shelf styled gallery wall of leaning frames in the background and floor pillows with sheepskin throws.  So modern and chic.

A cozy little corner spot.  A gold leafed floor lamp with a black drumshade, an embroidered pillow and a milk glass bottle used as a vase.  Simple and serene.

Hmm...I think a little [re]styling will be happening in my home shortly.  I'm ready for some change, how about you?  Are you inspired to create your own styled spot?
